What does it mean to be involved?

Members of the Black Women for Black Girls Giving Circle will be asked to participate annually by making a contribution on one of two levels—Executive Membership at $500 or General Membership at $250.

The giving circle is organized into five principal committees: Executive, Membership, Program Planning, Fundraising, and PR/Marketing.

The Executive Committee will serve as the governing body for all of the giving circle members. It is comprised of the Co-Chairs of each of the committees. Its function is to develop policy, purpose and procedures to facilitate the work of the circle in good order. Each member of the committee will contribute at the Executive Membership level of $500. Additionally, members will actively assist Fundraising Committee efforts to support BWBG work. Committee size: 10-15 members.

Any giving circle member can serve on one of the standing committees: Membership, Program Planning, Fundraising, and PR/Marketing. Committee Co-Chairs must be contributors at the Executive Level.

Commitment:

  • Attend four (4) Membership Meetings
  • Be financially committed at one of the membership levels
  • Serve on a Committee
  • Involvement in BWBG activities including forums, referrals to mentoring programs, special events with opportunities to benefit BWBG.
  • Donors contributing less than $250 will be recognized by the Giving Circle on an annual basis.
